Understanding Customer Account Protection Plan (CAPP)

Windstream provides a free Customer Account Protection Plan (CAPP) to provide increased account security. CAPP will help protect you against unauthorized changes or access to your account. In order to enjoy this level of security we encourage you to establish a CAPP passcode that is personal to you. Your passcode must be six numeric characters. We offer you 3 ways to add CAPP protection to your account.

  1. Call (800) 490-9297 to add your passcode to your account through our automated phone system.
  2. Call (877) 740-6853 to speak with a Windstream representative who can help you establish your passcode.

This passcode will be required for any account access or service changes requested by a third party on your behalf.
