What is the Power to the Small panel?

The important role that small, local businesses play within their communities can often be overlooked by media that focus on big name companies and their flashy leaders. Windstream has partnered with Inc. magazine to host the Power to the Small panel series in Windstream communities to support and empower the small businesses we serve. In Charlotte, NC, entrepreneurs Jermaine Johnson of No Grease Barbershop, Mac Lackey of Mountain Khakis and Charlie Mulligan of Brewpublik shared their insights on many of the most pressing issues facing business owners today.

Earlier this year, the Pew Research Center came out with a startling statistic. Actually, a startling adverb modifying a statistic. “As smartphones and other mobile devices have become more widespread, 28% of American adults now report that they go online ‘almost constantly.’”

Jacob Mehlhouse studied violin repair at Minnesota State College and after working at a different violin repair shop in Tulsa for several years as the shop foreman, he opened Tulsa Strings Violin Shop in the spring of 2008. Despite what the name might suggest, he repairs not only violins, but also violas, cellos, and basses.
