If you have a Sagem/Sagemcom 4320, bridging your modem will make it PCI compliant.
If that is not an option, you will need a different modem such as:
Sagem/Sagemcom 1704N
- To prepare the device for configuration, begin by removing the telephone cord from the gray port on the back of the modem labeled “ADSL.” Next, connect a PC or laptop to the modem with an Ethernet cable to the yellow port labeled “ETH1.”
- You will need to access the modem interface by going to http://192.168.254.254.
- You may need to authenticate to go into the modem setup interface. On this window, type in admin for both the user name and password.
- Select Advanced Setup from the menu open the left next select AutoDetection from the sub-menu
- Uncheck the AutoDetection box, click on “OK” when prompted.
- Under the Advanced setup menu, select Layer2 interface, verify that there is currently nothing listed there and then click the “Add” button.
- Verify the VPI & VCI are set to 0 and 35. Click “Save/Apply.” The interface you just created should now be listed.
- Under Advanced, select “WAN Service.” Verify there is nothing listed there and click “Add.”
- Verify the ATM (0_0_35) and then click “Next.”
- If the Customer is a PPPoE customer ensure that PPP over Ethernet is selected and click “Next.”
- Enter the PPP Username and Password into their respective fields, enable the following boxes: NAT, PPP debug mode, bridge pppoe frames. click “Next.”
- Ensure that ppp0.1 is listed and click “Next.”
- Make sure “Select DNS Server Interface from available WAN interface” is selected and then click “Next.”
- If the Customer is a RBE customer ensure that IP over Ethernet is selected and click “Next.”
- Ensure that “Obtain an IP address automatically” is selected.
- Make sure that only “NAT” is selected and click “Next.”
- Ensure that only “Enable NAT” is selected and click “Next.”
- Ensure that “atm0.1” is listed and click “Next.”
- Make sure “Select DNS Server Interface from available WAN interface” is selected and then click “Next.”
- Click “Apply/Save.”
- Once you have completed this step, the modem will now be PCI Compliant. You must now power cycle the modem and plug the DSL/phone cord back into the modem.
Arris Gateway
- You will need to access the modem interface by going to http://192.168.254.254.
- You may need to authenticate to go into the modem setup interface. On this window, type in admin for both the user name and password.
- Select System from the top menu and select “Remote Access.” Click “Disable” at the bottom.
- Restart/power cycle the gateway. It is now PCI Compliant.
