Small business owners navigate challenges daily, whether it’s adapting to the rising cost of doing business, managing staff and vendors, growing revenue, or delivering a seamless customer experience. Reliable internet shouldn’t be another thing owners have to worry about, especially given the crucial role it plays in overall business growth and success.

If the internet isn’t working, nothing is. Having worked for many years with small businesses, I know just how essential technology has become to an entrepreneur’s ability to achieve goals.

May is National Small Business Month, and as Kinetic celebrates these critical businesses in our communities and country, what better time to highlight the need to keep them connected, worry-free?

Today we launched our Small Business Connectivity Report, which highlights the importance of internet speed and reliability for day-to-day operations and the overall success of US-based small businesses in predominantly rural areas.

We surveyed 251 respondents—across 11 industries in our 18-state footprint—to better understand their unique challenges and priorities, and what we found reinforced our core value of supporting small businesses with reliable internet and voice services.

Our report shows that speed (36%) and reliability (35%) ring true as top internet priorities for small businesses. Furthermore, 25% of respondents value cybersecurity as an internet priority, and 24% state customer experience and employee productivity depend on reliable, fast internet service.

But the data doesn’t stop there. The Kinetic Small Business Connectivity Report offers you a snapshot into the objectives, challenges and most and important internet and voice features small business owners need. Check out the infographic below for a breakdown of insights.
