At this time Windstream’s Broadband Help Desk provides Internet technical support to customers using the following operating systems:

  • Windows Vista
  • Macintosh OS 10.X and higher

With the supported operating systems here are the minimum system requirements for each:

  • Windows Vista
    • Pentium 4 processor (1 GHz)
    • 512 MB RAM
  • Macintosh
    • 128 MB of RAM
  • 100 MB Hard Drive Space
  • 10Base-T Ethernet Adapter
  • An available USB port if Ethernet is not available (not supported by Windstream)

Unfortunately our Broadband Help Desk does not provide Internet technical support for legacy operating systems including, but not limited to:

  • Macintosh OS 9.x or lower
  • Windows 3.x or lower
  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98 – First/Second Edition
  • Windows ME
  • Windows Server – 2000 and 2003
  • Sega Dreamcast
  • PlayStation 2
  • PlayStation 3
  • XBOX/XBOX Live/XBOX 360
  • Windows CE/Mobile – any version
  • Blackberry Linux/Unix/BSD

Note: Windstream’s Broadband Help Desk will be happy to provide you with the settings for these type of connections but we cannot provide technical support for setup, configuration or troubleshooting of non-supported operating systems/devices.
